Kathy Kohner is the daughter of writer Frederick Kohner and the inspiration for the fictional character Franzie (AKA Gidget) in her father's novel, Gidget: The Little Girl with Big Ideas, which later lead to the popular Gidget (1959) series of movies, as well as the Gidget (1965) television show starring Sally Field.
