The issue of race was no less significant in Hollywood during the 20th Century than anywhere else in America. Despite the enormous social pressures against such unions, cupid's arrow still managed to strike up a few sparks of exogamous romance among the film community. Interracial marriage was, by the way, illegal in 31 states until, in 1967, the Supreme Court ruled such laws unconstitutional in Loving v. Virginia.

Wonderful theme on valentines day! It's easy to think that these issues didn't apply to the hollywood stars. It is so wonderful to see couples that still made it under these hard circumstances.
